A proposal topic will be assigned for each presentation in the form of a statement or question. For example, the following proposals have been used in the past:
For each proposal, one team will argue FOR the proposal and another will argue AGAINST. Each team is given 15 minutes to present their case (FOR goes first), and then, 5 minutes for a rebuttal to the other side's case.
You are graded on:
| content | 50% |
| presentation | 35% |
| creativity | 5% |
| your rebuttal | 10% |
You should use PowerPoint, Flash, video, and/or other teaching aids to present a professional case. The better job you do at engaging the rest of the class, the better you will do on the overall grade.
You can use your computer, or bring in your presentation on a CD-ROM or Flash Drive and use mine. It is strongly recommended that you test your presentation before you give it to ensure that the equipment works since the presentation grade will include your ability to timely setup and get started.
